BLOK Terms of Use and Software Licence
Version 2026-10-20.en.1 • Published on 20 October 2026
These terms govern the BLOK account, access to BLOK services and the use of software licensed by BLOK. They apply when you expressly accept them. Creating an account does not purchase a subscription. A paid offer, third-party product or separately licensed sound content may require additional terms presented before acquisition.
1 Operator and applicable documents
BLOK is a trading name used by ESTRELA RECORDS, a French société par actions simplifiée (SAS) with share capital of EUR 500, whose registered office is at 34 Rue Ratavoux, 04130 Volx, France. The company is registered with the Manosque Trade and Companies Register under number 948 002 902. Head-office SIRET: 948 002 902 00039. VAT number: FR49 948002902. Contact: estrela.mgmt@gmail.com. In these terms, “BLOK”, “we” and “us” refer to ESTRELA RECORDS operating the BLOK service. BLOK is not represented here as a registered trademark.
You use the service on your own behalf or for an organisation you are authorised to represent. You must have the legal capacity or authorisation required to enter into this agreement. Mandatory protections that apply to you as a consumer remain unaffected.
These terms cover the account, distribution and management functions and the software rights described below. The characteristics and commercial terms of a paid offer are stated separately before purchase and in its order confirmation. Third-party software and content remain subject to the licences identified for them. Information about personal data does not grant us a licence over your creative work.
Mandatory law takes precedence. Product-specific terms expressly accepted for a product may supplement these terms without removing statutory rights. A collection name, including Origins, Signatures or BLOK VAULT, does not by itself identify the rights holder or the seller.
2 Account creation and security
Provide an email address you control and accurate account information, and keep it up to date. Registration by email requires verification of that address for functions that require a verified account. Google registration uses a verified Google identity and the permissions displayed in that process.
You accept the version of these terms shown during registration through an explicit action. This acceptance is separate from any optional choice to receive marketing. Creating an account does not grant a paid subscription, a software entitlement, administrator privileges or access to BLOK Publisher.
Keep your access credentials confidential, do not share your account with others and contact support if you suspect unauthorised access. We may request proportionate verification to protect your account. Connecting an identity provider to an existing account requires appropriate authentication; a matching email address alone is insufficient.
An abandoned registration that has not created an account does not create one automatically. An email account may remain awaiting verification. You can request another verification message or contact support. An interrupted or expired Google registration must be restarted.
3 Access to the service
The website and BLOK Manager let you browse the catalogue, download and manage available products according to your entitlements. BLOK Publisher is restricted to expressly authorised accounts. A product being listed in a catalogue or present on a disk is not proof of a licence.
Check the published requirements for the relevant product version, including operating system, architecture, plug-in format, host application, disk space and connectivity. The requirements of the Mirror beta do not establish compatibility for every BLOK product.
4 Licence to BLOK software
To the extent that we hold the necessary rights and you have a valid entitlement to the relevant product, we grant you a non-exclusive licence to install and use the software in executable form for personal activities or professional productions. Ownership of the code, interfaces, branding and documentation is not transferred.
The licence duration follows the entitlement acquired. A subscription licence lasts for its valid subscription period. A perpetual licence exists only when expressly identified as such in the acquisition document. Trials and promotional access remain subject to their stated limits. Monthly payments do not accumulate into a perpetual purchase unless a separate offer expressly provides for that result.
For software using BLOK authorisation, activation and authorisation renewal require a connection to the service. The current system provides one active device lease per account at a time. Use the designated device-switching function to change devices. Proportionate limits may apply to prevent abuse. This individual account licence does not authorise account sharing or a multi-user studio deployment.
An authorisation already issued may allow offline operation until it expires, up to seven days in the current system and potentially less if the underlying entitlement expires sooner. This technical allowance does not extend a subscription. After a device change, an earlier offline authorisation may remain valid until its expiry; this does not permit account sharing. A perpetual licence does not by itself mean that every future version is included or that online activation is unnecessary.
5 Your productions and sound content
We do not acquire ownership of your compositions, recordings or projects merely because you use BLOK software. Existing third-party rights, including rights in recordings you import, remain unaffected.
This software licence is not a general licence to samples, loops, presets, sound libraries or demonstrations available through BLOK. Where content requires separate permission, the terms supplied with that content determine the permitted uses, their duration and any restrictions. These terms alone grant no right to extract or distribute such content in isolation or to build a competing content library.
Before using content in a production, check its applicable licence, including permission for commercial incorporation, synchronisation, attribution, redistribution and continued use after a subscription ends. If the required permission is not stated, contact support before relying on it. Rights offered by another sound service do not automatically apply to BLOK content.
6 Third-party products and components
A product in BLOK VAULT or another collection may be supplied by a third-party publisher. Its product and acquisition information should identify the publisher, seller, applicable licence, requirements, support arrangements and any separate activation process.
We grant only those third-party rights we are authorised to grant. Third-party and open-source component licences continue to apply on their own terms. Nothing here removes rights granted by those licences or by mandatory law.
Accepting the BLOK account terms does not replace acceptance of a separate third-party licence that must be presented to you. Contact support if a product’s applicable licence or responsible provider is unclear.
7 Prohibited uses and legal exceptions
Do not distribute software or authorisations without the necessary rights, rent or share your account, circumvent access controls, impersonate another person, compromise service security or carry out automated operations that disrupt the service.
Do not extract, modify, decompile or reuse protected elements beyond the rights granted to you. This restriction does not affect mandatory legal exceptions and permissions, including those relating to backup copies, observation of software operation and interoperability where applicable. Mandatory rights relating to the transfer of a licence also remain unaffected.
Voluntary contributions to support do not automatically transfer ownership of your work to us or give us permission to use it in advertising.
8 Paid offers and subscriptions
A paid offer requires a separate order process. Before payment, you must receive the seller’s identity, the offer’s contents, total price and applicable taxes, currency, billing frequency, commitment period, renewal, cancellation, withdrawal and refund terms. This information and any trial conditions must be available in a form you can keep.
These account terms do not set a price, create a trial or offer a specific subscription plan. The seller and the payment provider’s role are identified in the applicable order process.
Where an offer renews, its renewal terms are disclosed before purchase. You can give notice of cancellation through the electronic function provided where required by law and receive confirmation of its effective date on a durable medium. Cancellation at the end of a paid period normally leaves access in place until that period ends, subject to lawful and justified measures. Expiry ends the entitlements arising from that subscription without cancelling a separate perpetual entitlement.
A payment failure may prevent renewal or result in a proportionate suspension following required notices. A return page from a payment provider does not by itself confirm software entitlements. Contact support about billing or entitlement errors.
Closing an account and cancelling a subscription are separate operations. Contact support before closing an account with an active subscription or perpetual entitlements so that the effects on access, payments and records can be explained and handled.
9 Withdrawal and statutory guarantees
Where French consumer law applies, distance purchases generally carry a fourteen-day withdrawal period, subject to statutory conditions and exceptions. Creating an account or accepting these terms does not waive that right.
For paid digital content supplied without a tangible medium, early supply removes the withdrawal right only when the statutory conditions are met, including prior express consent to performance, acknowledgement of the loss of the right and the required confirmation on a durable medium. Digital services may follow a different rule. The relevant order process must identify the applicable treatment and provide the required withdrawal information.
Where the statutory conformity guarantee for digital content or services applies, you retain the remedies provided by law, including bringing the content or service into conformity free of charge, a price reduction or termination under the applicable conditions. For a single supply, the professional is responsible for defects existing at supply that become apparent within two years. For continuous supply, responsibility applies during the contractual supply period. Updates necessary to maintain conformity, including security updates, must be provided as required by law.
These terms do not exclude statutory guarantees, including the guarantee against hidden defects where applicable, or lawful compensation rights. A commercial refund policy supplements those rights and does not replace them. The applicable sales terms must provide the required statutory guarantee information for the offer.
10 Availability and changes to the service
We take reasonable steps to maintain the service and address incidents. Maintenance, an external dependency or a failure may affect access. Where possible, we inform you of planned interruptions and their effects. No contractual uptime level is promised unless separately agreed.
Changes to features, compatibility and catalogues must be explained clearly and do not permit arbitrary removal of a service already acquired. For consumers covered by digital-content or digital-service rules, changes beyond those necessary for conformity remain subject to statutory conditions, including a valid contractual reason, no additional cost, information and termination rights where required. Such reasons may include security, an essential technical development or a legal obligation, and changes must remain proportionate.
Beta versions are identified as such and may have additional defects. Back up your projects before using them. Beta status does not remove mandatory guarantees or liability.
11 Suspension and account termination
We may restrict access in response to unlawful use, fraud, account compromise or a serious breach. Measures must be justified, proportionate and limited to the affected access where possible. Unless urgent security concerns, legal duties or a risk of serious harm prevent it, we provide information and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach. You may challenge a measure by contacting support.
Termination does not retrospectively remove rights validly acquired for your productions. Continued use of incorporated sound content depends on its own licence as described in section 5. When a subscription ends, a plug-in may become unavailable when a project is reopened; keep the project files and audio exports you need. We do not delete your local projects solely because a subscription has ended.
12 Liability
Each party is responsible under applicable law for the consequences of its own breaches. You remain responsible for the content you use and for your backups; this does not exempt us from our own obligations.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law prohibits doing so, including mandatory guarantees, personal injury or consequences of intentional misconduct or gross negligence where the applicable rules so provide. These terms impose no general cap on compensation.
13 Support and complaints
For account, access, payment or other complaints, write to estrela.mgmt@gmail.com or to ESTRELA RECORDS, 34 Rue Ratavoux, 04130 Volx, France. Identify the relevant product and version and provide information needed for diagnosis, without sharing passwords, authentication secrets or payment-card credentials. Third-party product requests are directed according to the support arrangements disclosed for that product.
Consumers retain any applicable right to free consumer mediation following an unsuccessful prior complaint, as well as their right to bring proceedings before a competent court. You may contact us at the address above for information about dispute resolution. These terms do not impose arbitration or waive statutory remedies.
14 Personal data and acceptance records
ESTRELA RECORDS is responsible for the personal data it processes to operate the BLOK account and service. Account, identity, session, device and authorisation data are used to provide access, protect accounts and manage software entitlements. Technical observations of plug-in use may also be processed for entitlement management and allocation functions. Such data should not be assumed to be anonymous.
The acceptance record associates your account identifier with the document version and fingerprint, a server-generated acceptance time, the registration method and the document language. This record does not add an IP address or browser user-agent. It is kept with your account; technical and other business records have separate purposes and retention requirements.
Accepting these terms is not consent to marketing or to every processing activity. Data processing must have its own lawful basis and information appropriate to its purpose. You may contact estrela.mgmt@gmail.com for privacy information or to exercise applicable rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, including the CNIL in France. An identity provider or payment provider may process data under its own privacy terms.
15 Changes to these terms
Each version has a date and identifier and is available for you to read and save. A new version does not overwrite earlier acceptance records. Existing accounts are not treated as having accepted this version merely because it is published.
We provide information about changes and their effective date with notice appropriate to their consequences and applicable law. Material changes requiring agreement are submitted for express acceptance; silence is not a general consent. Mandatory termination rights and guarantees remain unaffected.
16 Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections applicable in their country of habitual residence where conflict-of-laws rules provide for them. Jurisdiction is determined by the applicable rules. These terms impose no exclusive foreign jurisdiction or general waiver of the right to bring a claim.
